Job Description

X-ray technicians are responsible for obtaining x-ray images of patients via radiographic imaging procedures. The images obtained are basically used by doctors (physicians) to decide on correct treatment schedules for the patient(s), alongside accurate diagnosis.

The x-ray technician job description also involves interviewing patients and finding out what their problems are; and collecting/documenting necessary information gotten from the patient(s).

He/she is also involved in the proper positioning of the patient during a radiologic imaging procedure.

The process of obtaining x-ray images is normally carried out based on the directives or instructions from the doctor/physician in charge.

He/she (the physician) points out the particular part of the body that has to be focused upon.

Skills required

Must have OR, portable and ER experience!
